In the sweltering summer heat I watched for a full hour, and the sifus’ hands never once stopped moving.
The sifu (master) of the Advertisement Shelter team told me they run two shifts a day: from about eight in the morning until one, then, after lunch, carrying on until night. The sifus there have been working together for over ten years. I asked him why he hadn’t retired yet. He said it was mainly because he still worried about the team. But he admitted too that he really loves this trade. When he spoke about how his workers had managed to support their families, put their children through school, even buy their first homes, he couldn’t have sounded more proud.

我喺炎熱嘅夏天睇咗成個鐘，班師傅對手完全冇停過。
廣告坑嘅師傅同我講，佢哋一日開兩更：朝早八點左右做到一點，食完飯再繼續做到夜晚。班師傅已經一齊做嘢超過十年。我問佢點解仲未退休，佢話最主要唔放心班伙記。不過，佢都無否認自己其實好鍾意做呢行。講起員工個個做到夠錢養家、供書教學、甚至買到第一層樓，佢語氣不知幾自豪。
